Stone Mill Capital LLC (SMC) seeks to make control investments in manufacturing businesses located in New England. SMC seeks business with a history of strong profitability, a defendable franchise (some competitive edge), and strong relations with customers, employees, suppliers and their communities. Upon making an acquisition, SMC intends to be a good steward of these attributes and will have a long-term outlook. In addition, SMC will engage in management of the acquired business at the board level, but in order to qualify as an investment candidate the target company will need to demonstrate day-to-day operational management to be in place.
