NASA spent about 15 years in the development and testing process in an effort to prevent the ravages of dehydration in our astronauts due to space flight. The testing included putting athletes through rigorous workouts as they refined the formulation and showed that is was significantly superior to the other formulas tested. The formula is still being used by astronauts during space missions today!
