Transworld Business Advisors of College Station is the premier business brokerage firm for the buying and selling of small-to-medium size businesses in the Brazos Valley region of Southeast Texas. We provide business brokerage, intermediary and valuation services to both sellers and buyers of Main Street businesses in the region. We partner with attorneys, accountants, business brokers, escrow agents, M&A advisors, private investors, and other business professionals to provide these services to both sellers and buyers of small-to-medium size businesses in the region. Brazos Valley counties served include Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Fayette, Grimes, Lee, Milam, Robertson, Waller and Washington.
Transworld Business Advisors of College Station also provides business valuation services to our sell-side clients upfront, thus enabling them to get a better idea of what their businesses are worth per the current market in their general locations. We create market listings for these clients in order to confidentially advertise their businesses for sale via numerous online venues. We then help with the negotiation process between the seller and buyer based on the offer made for the business. When the final purchase price is agreed upon, we then serve to help facilitate the information intensive due-diligence process between the parties. Once the due-diligence process is satisfactorily completed, we then involve our escrow office associates to handle the many legal and accounting based details of the closing. Finally, when a deal closes we get compensated via a commission based on the final sales price of the business sold.

Business Exit Strategy Tip -> The best time to sell a business is when it's in an upward trajectory and there’s both a segue for growth and a reason to be positive for prospective buyers. But this also represents the hardest time for an owner to sell and walk away, thus resulting in a quandary for many business owners who end up staying on too long and missing the peak time to sell. In general, there are a number of market factors which provide a solid indication of when it's a good time to sell:
- A high volume of comparable business sales in your industry;
- An upward trend of sale prices;
- An upward trend of strategic acquisitions;
- A period of relatively low taxes;
- Interest rates that are lower compared to years past;
- An economy that shows signs of strength and growth;
- Affordable debt financing.
Goodwill Valuation Tip -> As defined by BBP/DealStudio, goodwill is the "difference that exists between a business’s tangible assets and the purchase price. Goodwill can also be looked at as encapsulating all the hard work that the seller has put into the business while building it". Additionally, the M&A Dictionary defines goodwill as an "intangible and fixed asset, one that can be carried on as an asset on the balance sheet, such as a recognizable company or product name or strong reputation. When one company pays more than the net book value for another, the former is typically paying for goodwill".

Important Advisory -> As a business broker/intermediary, I strongly encourage all clients to seek the services of qualified attorneys, accountants, escrow agents, and/or other professional advisors when entering into the sale or purchase of a business. Also, if you want to buy a good business with rock solid fundamentals that will transaction well & can grow under your ownership, then be prepared to pay a premium for it.
