Oceanwind Technology, LLC has developed an innovative floating deepwater foundation system for offshore wind farms which would dramatically improve the economics of offshore wind farms. Conventional foundation technologies for offshore wind farms are economically viable only where the depth is less than 40m in general, due to the high cost of erecting wind towers in the seabed at greater depths. Oceanwind’s proprietary deepwater technology would make it possible to deploy offshore wind farms at continental shelf depth (typically 100m-300m) with robust stability and competitive cost.
