Hi, I’m Tyler, Founder and Managing Director of Hatch Equity.
After spending many years in investment banking and high-growth technology, I turned my focus to the small business universe, wanting to continue down the path my father had gone. In speaking with many business owners, I discovered that the exit opportunities available for small businesses did not provide owners with a great way to pass on their legacies.
I found, as many owners often do, that traditional private equity acquirers often only aim to run a business they acquire for 5-7 years, and have motivation to reduce staff and make sweeping changes to improve the return on investment for their limited partners.
Having a small business owning father, I didn’t feel that the option of selling a business to someone who was going to “flip it’ paid reverence to the many years of hard work it took to get a business to this stage.
My team’s focus at Hatch Equity is to build trusting relationships with business owners and provide them with a way to pass on their legacies to a new operator who will retain staff, implement effective processes, grow the business and continue with the business for the long run.
I created Hatch Equity to be a new home for remarkable businesses who want their legacies carried on for decades in the future. My mission is to create great places to work for employees and great returns for our investors.
