Overview Golden Spike Capital (GSC) is a private investment firm that specializes in the acquisition and management of a private middle market business located in the United States. We focus on profitable businesses with growth potential, typically with revenues between $3 and $20 million. GSC is different than traditional strategic or private equity buyers. Golden Spike Capital takes an active role in the day-to-day operations of the acquired company. After an acquisition GSC's Managing Partner will relocate to the business and assume a full-time management position working with the current management team, allowing the owner to gain liquidity and transition from a daily operating role. We aim to partner with current management teams that have enthusiasm and determination to grow the business. Mission Golden Spike Capital's mission is to provide liquidity to owners, and capital for growth while ensuring continuity to customers and employees. We focus on long-term growth to create value for customers, employees, the community and shareholders.
Team Austin Peterson is the founder and Managing Partner of Golden Spike Capital. Austin earned an MBA and Bachelor of Business, both with Highest Honors from the University of Kansas and he holds a Law degree from The University of Chicago Law School. Prior to founding Golden Spike Capital, Austin spent time as a consultant and corporate attorney. Austin worked for the law firm Mayer Brown LLP in Chicago, focusing on private equity transactions. He has represented private equity firms and investment funds in connection with purchases and fund formation, with aggregate transaction values in excess of a billion dollars. He has also spent time as a consultant in varied engagements. Austin has experience managing and growing existing businesses, and has managed formation and fundraising for new ventures. Golden Spike Capital is backed by an active team of highly successful investors and entrepreneurs with significant experience building private companies.
