FreeByMe ("FBM") is a mobile social commerce application that uses the standard geolocation technology in a user's internet connected device (smartphone, iPhone, iPad, etc) to find local businesses and activities that are currently offering free products, services, and activities. FBM combines social media, mobile technology, and location based services in one application while providing a profitability model for both merchant and consumer. EXAMPLE: A FBM user is walking down the street. His smartphone sends a notification. A tap of the notification display a street map of the current location with several different icons on local streets. A tap on the "hanger" icon and up pops the page of a nearby store offering a free deal right now. FBM is a new and unique platform. Its core service is the identification and delivery of truly free products, services, and activities from both the private and public sector. FBM is a dynamic real-time version of the sidewalk special board and tourist guidebook. Unlike any of its competitors FBM's offers are primarily user generated. Locations are listed because a peer in the system has personally vetted the location. In other systems the social component is grafted later, here the social aspect is built in from the ground up. Additionally a user-curated point system ensures that the best deals are most prominent at all times. After users' nomination, local merchants will have the ability to serve a money saving offer to users who a) have already expressed an interest and b) are within walking or driving distance of the merchant. FBM is a crowd-sourced, hyper-local, targeted, dynamic, free offer delivery system. It's a new paradigm: "Just In Time Marketing." FBM represents the convergence of social, mobile, and local. Many companies are successfully addressing one or the other, but no one has found a way to merge all three into one successful application until FreeByMe.
