Dia Bras Exploration Inc. is a Canadian-based mining exploration corporation with gold, silver, lead, copper and zinc properties in northern Mexico. The Company is committed to advancing and adding value to its core assets in the renowned Sierra Madre Occidental mineral belt of Mexico.
Dia Bras began evaluating opportunities in Mexico, in 2003, and has since acquired, explored and developed high-quality properties and owns two producing projects covering more than 18,000 hectares, with significant potential for major discoveries in the State of Chihuahua.
In 2004, the Company acquired the Bolivar Mine project. The expanded Bolivar Property hosts multiple prospects and exploration targets within a large footprint of alteration and mineralization stretching for four kilometres that has yet to be thoroughly explored. The Bolivar Mine project is related to a single copper-porphyry skarn and breccia-pipe mineralized system.
Dia Bras significantly broadened its land package in 2006 by acquiring a majorative land position in the Cusihuiriachic (Cusi) silver district, known for centuries as an area rich in silver deposits. The 100-square-kilometre property encompasses at least 12 former silver mines and is situated very close to theb Company´s wholly owned Malpaso Mill.
Effective September 30, 2009, the Company acquired 100 percent ownership of EXMIN Resources Inc. (EXMIN) in a plan of arrangement transaction under the CBCA. The results of EXMIN's operations since the date of the acquisition was included in the Company's third quarter 2009 consolidated financial statements published on November 30, 2009. This acquisition, covering approximately 263,298 hectares in 16 projects, greatly expanded the Dia Bras´ exploration portfolio that focuses on the development of other historic precious metal districts. Dia Bras currently produces zinc and copper concentrates through its Bolivar pilot-mining program and currently produces silver doré and concentrates of zinc and lead through its Cusi advanced development program.
All mineralized rock produced by the Company is currently processed at the Malpaso Mill. Dia Bras has commenced the construction of the new Piedras Verdes Mill at the Bolivar Property to further reduce operating and transportation costs of processing the mineralized rock produced.
Dia Bras' goal is to focus on growing its mining operations through the development of existing properties, while maintaining production costs that will sustain the Company through most market conditions.
