Timothy W. Crawford
Managing Partner
Mr. Crawford’s skill set lies in understanding the unique capital needs of a particular company and how to develop their long-term capital strategy. He has deep knowledge how to align a growth-oriented business with strategic partnerships and the proper capital partners that will help them avoid catastrophic wrong turns during their high growth stages. As a former Senior Vice President of McDonald Investment Group one of the ten largest banks in the world (A Key Corp Company / Public Company Symbol - KEY) Mr. Crawford has sat on the side of the desk that reviews investment opportunities offering keen insights as to what investors look for. He has maintained active relationships with institutional investors, including major investment funds, family offices, private equity firms, venture capitalists, angel investors, regional commercial banks, non-bank lenders, hedge funds, and FINRA Broker-Dealers.
Mr. Crawford began his financial career in 1989 at The Banc Stock Group where he structured and participated in taking The Banc Stock Group, Inc (BSGK) public in 1997. The Company was the number one performing stock on the NASDAQ in 1998 and subsequently changed the name to Diamond Hill Capital Management, Inc. (DHIL) in 2000. Mr. Crawford participated in underwriting more than $44 million in stock for community banks and managed assets totaling more than $50 million while at BSGK. He also structured and secured capital for First Capital Bancshares of Bennettsville, Citrus Bank, Northern Star Bank, Bank of Godfrey, Southeast Commerce Bank (currently ebank.com) and Saratoga Bank.
In 2002, he co-founded Capital City Partners of Columbus, Ohio and grew this firm from four founders to a regional financial service firm with more than 75 professionals in 5 states specializing in Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Insurance. While at Capital City Partners Mr. Crawford structured the acquisition of 200 energy properties in 11 states for $11.7 million for Capital City Energy Group (CETG) in 2007 and subsequently structured the Reverse Merger of CETG into a public company in 2008. While at CETG he formed and authored the Committee Charters and their employee stock purchase plan as well as authored their Super 8-K, finalized and signed their 8-K and 10-Q’s.
David Gligor
Partner – Project Strategy & Execution
David has mastered the “trifecta” of operations, finance and sales, having led companies through growth and turnarounds comprising a scale of operations and an area of direct responsibility from $25MM to upwards of $400MM. He has led a team of more than 6,200 associates across 37 states. This includes all facets for both field and corporate department functions. Reporting and directing strategic plans with Board of Director groups and International Senior Management.
Expansive merger & acquisition: depth led him to grow a medical retail clinic chain from 100 units to 325, through both “greenfield and acquisitions”. Connect Hearing is a US subsidiary of SONOVA AG, a world leading hearing healthcare organization based in Stafa, Switzerland and traded on the Swiss Stock Exchange. SONOVA benefited from a (+50%) increase in sales averages and margins of (+30%) while growing digital leads and consumer pipelines from 20% to an 80% mix versus institutional preferred provider networks, all this coupled with David leading the aggressive physical footprint growth.
Cash flow + margin improvement experience: Drove dramatic $88MM cash flow improvement (from $65MM to +$23MM),achieved $9.8MM in overhead savings, and averaged 6% to 8% average sales growth within 16 months at Service Corporation International. Overhauled compensation plans and eliminated multi-line organization waste.
David brings to Crystal Capital the “boot on the ground” mentality of operational, merger, acquisition, sales and finance depth, enabling him to cut through nearly any small to middle market organization encompassing industry sectors from services, specialty consumer, healthcare, manufacturing sectors.
