Appalachian Capital Holdings (AppCap) is a small private investment office that manages the assets of private families and individuals. As a family office, we are interested in long-term investment partnerships of all sort (minority, majority, and buyout), and our permanent capital allows us to to build and hold our platform investments for generations, rather than the typical short time horizons constraining most private equity funds.

Though we are industry agnostic, we have a particular fondness for "boring" companies with stable client bases, recurring revenue opportunities, and/or fragmented industries. We love "buy and build" opportunities and are well-versed in growing and expanding through acquisitions or "roll-ups" of related or adjacent businesses. We are particularly interested in owner or founder exit/retirement situations and prefer to partner with existing management to build long-term value.
Our investment team has a diverse background spanning premier banking, consulting, law and private equity firms. As such, we are unusually well-positioned to add significant value to our investments in a short period of time, and we have a consistent history of doing so.
AppCap is currently seeking additional micro-cap or small-cap investment opportunities. We have a preference for stable or growing, cash-flowing businesses with EBITDA of $2mm-8mm, which also present opportunities to create long-term value through top-line growth, geographic expansion, acquisitions, or business process improvement. Within those bounds we are largely industry agnostic, with a slight (non-exclusive) preference for businesses located east of the Mississippi River.
