Vonvo is a real-time video event platform dedicated to sharing your non-profit’s story with the world. And just like your organization, Vonvo has a story of its own.
Vonvo was founded in 2012 when its co-founders, Alex Chaplin and Max Ringelheim, won $10,000 in their University’s Business Plan Competition. At the time, Vonvo was designed to host live video conversations about breaking news. Vonvo quickly became the go-to website for thousands of concerned citizens to safely discuss provocative topics like the Israeli and Palestinian Conflict, Boston Bombing, and gay rights.
Within months, Vonvo hosted more peaceful discussions between Israelis and Palestinians than in the previous century. Vonvos that began with two ‘sworn-enemies’, ended with two new friends planning their next Vonvo. And with that, the power of video-discussions for social good was realized.
With a new focus on maximizing its social impact, Vonvo shifted its attention to a larger audience – non-profits, grassroots organizations, and other social impact organizations. Vonvo now hosts video events for the likes of the United Nations, University at Buffalo, and Stand With Us.
