Spotted Bear Capital is a Search Fund that targets technology businesses, primarily in B2B Vertical SaaS. Spotted Bear is managed by Daniel Certner, an entrepreneur, technologist, and the former CTO of Namely – an HR-tech SaaS startup recently sold to PrismHR/Stone Point Capital. He is a results-oriented people leader that drives impact by effectively bridging the gap between non-technical company leadership and Product/Engineering organizations. Daniel began his career as a startup founder, and witnessed unimaginable growth and scale as an early employee of Facebook/Meta. Daniel leveraged this vast experience to orchestrate a technical turnaround at Namely, which ultimately enabled the sale of the company in late 2022. Post-acquisition, Daniel started a Spotted Bear Capital, where he plans to replicate significant business acceleration through technical transformation at an acquired company. Outside of the office, Daniel serves on the board of the non-profit S.N.A.P., and as an angel investor and advisor.
