I was the Co-Founder of Pura Vida Bracelets, a jewelry and lifestyle brand. Fresh out of college at San Diego State University, I took a surfing trip to Costa Rica with my best friend, Griffin Thall. We were lucky enough to stumble across two talented artisans, whose simple string bracelets captured the essence of our journey and the beauty of Costa Rica. Hoping to help them out, we asked the artisans to make 400 bracelets to bring back home and sell at a local San Diego boutique. Much to our surprise, they sold out in just a matter of days.
At Pura Vida, I was instrumental in guiding our marketing return on ad spend and making sure we maintained the proper amount of inventory to support sales across all channels of the business. As a result, we achieved 57% year-over-year growth between 2018 and 2019, all while maintaining the same level of profitability. We were also able to successfully ship more than 10M products during the past year, as well as answer more than 585K customer service inquiries. In addition, I was monumental in securing a $130M investment from iconic lifestyle brand Vera Bradley. I recently exited the business and now looking to invest and buy businesses.
