Palmetto Ridge was founded and led by one entrepreneur with a passion for small business and backed by a team of experienced investors and operators. We are interested in connecting with motivated sellers of well-established small and medium-sized businesses with loyal customers and strong leadership.
Brock Vaughn grew up in southwestern Virginia and was exposed to small business operations from a young age through his family’s small business. The dedication and pride his family members had for their small business and the life-long relationships they formed with its employees inspired Brock’s passion for small business.
Prior to founding Palmetto Ridge, Brock was a Vice President at Copeley Capital Management, a Charlotte, NC based lower middle market private equity firm focused on acquisitions of privately-owned businesses operating in a variety of industries, including healthcare services, business services, manufacturing, and value added distribution. While at Copeley, he was involved in all aspects of sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, and deal execution processes for new investments. Additionally, he served as a board observer for Copeley portfolio companies and was actively involved in supporting the management teams. Prior to Copeley, he worked in transaction advisory and assurance services for Grant Thornton and Deloitte. Brock is a licensed CPA in the state of North Carolina and received a Master of Accountancy from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. in Construction Science and Management from Clemson University.
Brock is excited to leverage his prior experience and dedicate the next phase of his career to small business operations. In his free time, Brock enjoys the outdoors, biking, swimming, and spending time with friends and family. He is also passionate about early childhood education and is an active elementary math tutor for Heart Math Tutoring.
