Over these 50 plus years, the Ohio Medical brand has created a reputation as a manufacturer of clinically relevant and reliable products. Ohio Medical has a long and rich heritage under the names Ohio Medical Products, Airco and Ohmeda. It is a name with broad recognition and a sound service reputation in hospital environments around the world. In 1960, Ohio Chemical and Surgical Equipment Company acquired Armstrong, changing its name to Ohio Medical Products in 1967. In 1982, the name Ohio Medical Products became Ohmeda. In July of 2005, Ohio Medical Corporation was formed and purchased Ohmeda Suction & Oxygen Therapy products from GE Healthcare and the Aeros Instruments & Squire-Cogswell (privately held). This union of two companies reunited two businesses under one powerful name providing stronger focus on customer and industry. Ohio Medical is focused on staying aligned with upcoming healthcare reform and has delivered and will continue to deliver products that address key patient safety issues combined with unmatched clinical education support in their space. Finally in 2007 Ohio Medical acquired Amvex Corporation, a Toronto based manufacturer of Suction and Oxygen therapy devices.
