NoQL was founded by William K. Bittner on November 14th, 2013 with the intention to forever change the world of computing. Years ago, we began hitting the barriers due to the laws of physics in terms of clock speed (ghz), and since then the hardware industry has been expanding horizontally to parallel compute nodes. Furthermore, we are still using the model of the general purpose x86 CPU, which is creates cumbersome barriers to programmers, and massive inefficiencies in latency, throughput, and energy usage. NoQL is a way to think of computing as a stream of junctions, pipes, and filters, instead of discrete instructions. At NoQL we firmly believe this way of thinking, this way of computing, is the natural evolution of computing faced with barriers put in place by the laws of physics. Hence the play on "No Query Language", playing off of the evolution of SQL, to NoSQL, to now NoQL.
We are currently targeting the Financial Services and Financial Technology sector, but plan to expand horizontally into almost every sector that demands high performance computation
