Gryphon was founded in 1995 to respond to the growing popularity of contact governance legislation at the state and federal level. In 1988, Florida passed the first Do-Not-Call law. The federal government instituted the Telephone Consumer Protection Act in 1991, and then the Telemarketing Sales Rule in 1995. Our team understood the stranglehold that emerging legislation would have on marketers. State and federal governments made it clear marketers would need a dramatically new approach to cope with increasing, and increasingly complicated, marketing privacy legislation. The technology we developed elevated compliance solutions to the telephone carrier tier.
Seeing opportunity where others saw impasse, Gryphon leveraged product patents to secure our first Fortune 500 client in 1998. As Do-Not-Call legislation gained popularity across the country, Gryphon developed relationships with regulators and participated in regulatory roundtables at the state, federal, and international level to help ensure the new rules were fair.
Gryphon has continued to develop technology to help marketers comply with marketing privacy regulations and centralize contact governance across multiple communications channels. We aim to continuously advance compliance and sales intelligence solutions across all channels to help companies improve their outbound sales teams’ productivity and effectiveness.
