KGTV, Inc. is a search fund founded by Karlo Teran for the sole purpose of acquiring a single business and operating it for the long term.
Prior to founding KGTV, Karlo was a Partner at Discovery Americas, a leading Private Equity firm in Mexico specialized in growth equity for middle-market companies.
While at Discovery, Karlo was also an operating partner at portfolio company AMCO, one of the leading Learning Systems companies in the K-12 market in 11 countries. At AMCO, he was the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Sales Officer at different stages of the investment.
In addition to Education, Karlo led or co-led Discovery Americas’ investments in H+ (hospitals), Villazul (assisted living residences), and Arrenda+ (loans & leasing for SMEs).
Prior to Discovery Americas, Karlo was a Senior Associate at Bain & Company, a leading consulting firm. In addition to roles at Investment Placement Group (Financial Services) and The Kor Group (Hospitality).
Karlo has also been an entrepreneur and investor since he graduated from University, where he co-founded companies in: Digital Media (Juanfutbol.com & Soccerly.com), Portable Restrooms, Mobile Billboard Advertising, Fitness Gyms & Agriculture.
Karlo holds an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Financial Administration from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico.
