Buyer Profile — Kevin Rosenberg
I am an independent buyer pursuing my first acquisition in the New England market. My background spans M&A advisory at EY, strategy consulting at IBM, and commercial leadership at early-stage industrial and climate technology companies. I bring real transaction experience, financial modeling depth, and a proven ability to ramp quickly in unfamiliar industries.
What I'm Looking For
Established, owner-operated businesses in Eastern Massachusetts with stable cash flows and an underdeveloped commercial function. Target criteria:
Purchase price: $1.5M – $3.5M
Revenue: $2M – $8M
SDE/EBITDA: $400K – $900K
Business age: 15+ years
Employees: 5–40
Geography: Eastern MA; within 90 minutes of Boston
Target Industries
Specialty building products distribution or manufacturing representation
Building envelope, insulation, or energy efficiency — contracting or distribution
Niche manufacturing with an underdeveloped commercial function
What I Bring
At EY Transaction Advisory Services, I worked on complex M&A transactions — divestitures, carve-outs, and post-merger integration — for clients including Air Products, Bayer, Humana, and Medtronic. I know what ownership transitions look like from the inside.
Since consulting, I've spent six years in commercial leadership at early-stage industrial companies — entering unfamiliar industries fast, building process from scratch, and closing complex deals. I've structured partnerships that unlocked seven-figure revenue, built the unit economics models that shaped product strategy, and created commercial engines where none existed. That's what I intend to bring to an acquired business.
How I Transact
SBA-financed and self-funded. I have equity available to close in the $1.5M–$3.5M range without outside investors or extended fundraising timelines. I intend to operate the business day-to-day — not install a management team and step back.
I will tell you quickly whether a deal fits, won't waste your time, and will conduct diligence professionally and without unnecessary disruption. If we get to an LOI, I'm serious.
A Note on Who I Am
My father worked for himself his entire career. I grew up watching him build his product sales business and distribution, and I worked for him in high school selling t-shirts at a flea market. This was my first exposure to what it means to own a business and be accountable to the people who depend on it. That stuck with me.
Throughout my career, some of my best relationships have been with small and mid-sized business owners — clients and partners I've genuinely enjoyed working with and treated with respect. I have a young family and I'm building toward something I can be proud of. I'm looking for a business where the foundation is already solid, the people are good, and the seller can feel good about who they're handing it to.
