JCB LLC is looking to acquire and operate a small business in the Chicagoland area. John Barrett is a Chicago native, who is motivated to establish long-term relationships that would build upon and fortify the life’s work of a current owner-operator.
John is a well-rounded, natural entrepreneur with a STEM education that gave him a passion for experimenting and learning new things. He spent many years in the finance world, learning both soft and hard skills such as financial analysis, equity research, budgeting, operations improvement, mentoring and customer service. John has years of experience in analyzing the sustainable competitive advantages of various companies, ranging from autonomous driving to healthcare to business services, and is excited about the potential challenges and learning opportunities he would face as a business leader.
John has an MBA from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a BA in Biology from Johns Hopkins University that further support his work experience. In his spare time, John enjoys golfing, following the White Sox, traveling internationally with his wife, and grilling at his home in Bucktown.
