Our story began in South Florida in the 1930’s when a gentleman named F.F. “Bud” Adams, Sr. started selling land in Hobe Sound and on Jupiter Island. His son, Bud, Jr., followed in his footsteps. In the 1950’s, Bud, Jr., quickly learned the importance of relationships. With a vision of becoming the number one real estate company in Palm Beach County, Bud, Jr. moved to Palm Beach and founded Illustrated Properties in 1975. He also became the exclusive broker for Lost Tree Village and John’s Island.
In the 1980's, Bud, Jr.’s son, F.F. Adams III, known as Chappy, continued the family business when he became the next generation to lead Illustrated Properties. By implementing the newest and most innovative technology, Chappy believed he would leap ahead of the competition.
Between Bud, Jr.’s roots and reputation, and Chappy’s innovation and foresight, Illustrated Properties grew to become the largest independent real estate company in Palm Beach County in a few short years.
In January 2013, Illustrated Properties endured a great loss with the passing of Chappy Adams. Because he was so influential and had worked so diligently to ensure the success of the company, Bud Adams, Jr. returned to the helm. Bud stepped in as CEO and continues with Chappy’s vision to ensure the Illustrated Properties’ name lives on in Florida.
Continuing the visions of three incredible men, Bud, Jr. and his top-notch staff have grown the company to be the #1 real estate brand in Palm Beach County, while maintaining the culture of a family-owned business. Today Illustrated Properties has more than 500 agents in 21 offices throughout Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Volusia and Collier counties.
Illustrated Properties has been #1 market leader in northern and central Palm Beach County for the past 13 years, and in 2013 we became the #1 (non-franchised) real estate company in all of Palm Beach County.
