Hint makes it easy and fun for people to drink more water rather than sweetened beverages. Hint was founded by CEO Kara Goldin, mother of four, in San Francisco. She created the beverage when she wanted to stop her addiction to diet soda and diet sweetened beverages, but found plain water too boring. She started adding sliced fruit to her water to make it easier to drink – and to her amazement saw her and her family’s water consumption increase drastically. Kara couldn’t believe that she couldn’t find a similar solution in stores, so she launched Hint in 2005, the day she gave birth to her fourth child. Six years later she launched Hint Fizz, for those who prefer bubbles. Hint is the number one beverage at Google, and can be found in many forward-thinking companies like Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook. Hint is also available in many specialty and natural grocery stores and is becoming more available in mainstream stores. In 2014, Hint will approach $50 million in retail sales.
