TeraWatt Power Solutions is a developer of renewable energy projects using existing oil & gas infrastructure. The company’s current focus is co-production, which converts hot brine by-product of producing oil & gas fields into usable electric power using organic raking cycle (ORC) technology. The technology has been tested by NREL in the Rocky Mountain Oil Test Center, and NREL has agreed to loan the same test unit to TeraWatt free of charge once the company finds a viable site to produce geothermal power. TeraWatt then plans to acquire additional used or depreciated ORC units to expand the business to additional sites or areas where there is access to hot water flow using existing infrastructure.
