Flying Point Capital's "Building for Scale" mentoring program is anchored by a highly practical business management system that has been successfully applied by hundreds of small and mid-sized businesses for almost a decade.Our Principals have significant success as business builders, board members and investors. Our Focus We make control and non-control equity investments in founder and family-owned, owner-operated businesses (“Owner-Operator”) that would like to: - Take some capital out of their businesses for estate planning purposes, - Raise additional monies for an acquisition(s) or growth, - Achieve monetization(s) while retaining economic control or a large equity stake, - Partner with experts in helping build their business for scale. How We Help- A Summary We help Owner-Operators meet their objectives by: - Making control and non-control investments that typical provide us with 25% to 75% equity ownership stakes, - Simultaneously helping them raise a modest amount of leverage (typically two to three times EBITDA less normalized capital expenditures), - We support a management operating system for our portfolio companies if they do not already have a satisfactory system to manage matters including vision, people, data, issues and process, making the business more scalable. Our minority stake option is highly attractive to Owner-Operators as it enables them to take up to 75% of their equity value off the table while retaining economic control.
