I'm Meire Akpaibor, a senior technology and GRC executive with 20+ years of experience scaling risk, compliance, and security functions at Google, PayPal, Visa, Square, Gusto, and Everlaw, with earlier audit foundations at PwC and BDO.
Beyond my corporate work, I'm the founder of CybersecurityEM Institute, where I've built and run a GRC and IT audit training program with a strong CISA pass rate, and I teach cybersecurity as an adjunct professor at Merritt College.
I'm now pursuing acquisition opportunities through Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA). My investment criteria:
- Established businesses with $500K–$3M in SDE and 5+ years of operating history
- Manufacturing, light industrial, food production, or compliance-adjacent services
- Northern California / Bay Area, with openness to remote-manageable operations
- Owner-operator transitions where my background in governance, systems, and process design can unlock the next stage of growth
What I bring to a transition is unusual for an individual buyer: enterprise-grade operating discipline, deep experience implementing controls and systems at scale, and a genuine commitment to preserving what current owners have built while modernizing the back office. I'd rather be the right steward for one great business than chase deals.
