AGRIBOT is an autonomous, catterpillar tracked vehicle designed to work in orchards, vineyards and farms. The project is beeing developed in cooperation with Agrirobo, Wroclaw University of Technology and the University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw.
The idea is the result of seeking solutions for the automation of work in the orchard, and work on the development of the prototype began in June 2012.
AGRIBOT is equipped with set of sensors to detect obstacles and a precise location using GPS signal with âsub-inchâ tracking accuracy. The vehicle will move between the rows of orchards or vineyards, where width is standardized. Thanks to use of doubled PTO and three-point suspension system, machine is able to perform two operations at one pass, eg spraying and mowing.
Additional optional accessories that can be mounted on a robot: - the intelligent sprayer, - precision fertilizer spreader, - a system for continuous testing soil richness, - mowers and pruners automatic - gas blower system used to protect flowers against a spring frost.
Our R&D department is working with the device for the collection of fruit such as apples. Together with the University of Life Sciences are undertaken efforts to investigate the possibility of introduction non-chemical methods of weed control, such as solarise or thermal eradication. This technology will significantly reduce the use of pesticides.
Together with the Department of Plant Protection at the University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw we are working on the possibility of using biological methods of plant protection, the use of microorganisms to reduce the population of harmful insects. On the market there are already for sale nematode larvae which, in the form of an aqueous slurry are used to make protective operation on cultivated plants.
