These companies are ones who can typically defend their given marketplace by having their products or services backed by intellectual property protection. Although we may join other venture funds while investing, our funds will usually be the lead investor or the first institutional investor in the companies that we support.
1839 Ventures qualifies as an Exempt Reporting Adviser. At this time, this type of investment advisory firm is not required to register with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). However, we choose to still pay fees and report public information through the IARD/FINRA system. Along with this registration and our extra level of commitment to reporting, it is our belief that 1839 Ventures can more fully engage our investors, provide better transparency regarding our fund’s investments, and maintain higher standards for our investment practices.
