Happy Friday and welcome to another edition of Axial Radar!
Last week on Radar, we discussed how nation-wide labor shortages are forcing investors to change their due-diligence processes. This week, we’ll take a look at how those very same labor challenges are shaking up the investment firms themselves.
Already dubbed The Great Resignation, employers have been dealing with a not-so-insignificant increase in employees quitting their jobs. So far in 2021, 27% of VC and PE firms reported losing at least one partner or key recruit (up from 22% in 2020).
In this week’s featured Industry Trends article, we’ll take a look at how the tables are turning in the employee’s favor, and how cash (unsurprisingly) is proving to be a very effective employee retention tool.
Our featured buy-side members this week include one of Amazon’s leading FBA platforms, an HVAC investment group, and a LMM focused independent sponsor. On the sell-side we’ll introduce you to a leading business brokerage firm and a Canadian M&A Advisory firm.
