unseat.me connects buyers and sellers who share a passion for sports (and eventually other ticketed events) and gives them tools to take what has always been offline ticket transactions (selling to friends) and bring them online. Our sellers are ticket holders (often season ticket holders) with extras. The buyers are their friends and followers. Affinity (especially for sports teams) is strongly shared amongst Facebook friends. By providing an integrated digital platform we give users a solid alternative to anonymous markets like StubHub and Craigslist and also take peer to peer transactions off the street corner. Official secondary ticket markets like StubHub and their competitors already account for $4.5 billion and if you add breakage, offline transactions and Craigslist the market quickly exceeds $10 billion in the US and $100 billion worldwide. unseat.me is currently free for users however we take a revenue share from partner markets and have premium features lined up for active users. The long term plan is to add transaction and transfer technologies that will allow us to participate in all transactions. We are also developing international markets (Brazil, Mexico, India, etc.) where, after demonstrating traction, we intend to build the "StubHub of _______". Finally, we have incredible access to buyers. Sports teams have demonstrated a willingness to pay for that access. There is a Klout style B2B campaign opportunity we are exploring and may test as soon as Q4 2012. Revenue will come from transaction fees, International and B2B.
