Liber.co., a startup, is a digital spinoff of 50-year-old test prep book publisher, National Learning Corporation (NLC). NLC is a leading supplier of test prep materials in printed book form for civil service, vocational and professional licensing exams, as well as school market entrance exams. With almost 2 million questions and answers covering around 50 career paths, NLC has by far the most extensive catalogue of test prep materials its space. Our plans seeks to license (free of charge) and digitize the content and sell it B2C as a subscription model through an app and a website to aspiring job seekers, effectively becoming a "career companion" to first time seekers and to those seeking promotions, better jobs, etc. To generate traffic, our website will offer up-to-date information on upcoming licensing and civil service exams, become the GO-TO destination for this highly decentralized information. There is a lot of competition on the school market side, but only small players in the civil service, vocational and professional test prep space. Leveraging our advantages in (free) content and in our career companion strategy, we plan to build a $100M business in 5 years. We are seeking seed capital of $2.5M to digitize the content, create the app and the website and conduct a beta launch to work out the bugs and test our pricing and marketing strategies.
