ESSER VINEYARDS is a family owned and operated premium wine brand with deep roots in the Napa Valley. Beginning with its first vintage, founder Manfred Esser's mission has been to exceed expectations. The ESSER wines are acknowledged for their quality, elegance and great values. Over the past 11 years, the brand has developed a consistent base of passionate accounts and a strong and loyal distribution network.
Manfred Esser had a 10 year reign as the president and driving force of Cuvaison Winery, carving out its distinctive niche as one of Napa Valley's super premium wineries. In 2002, Esser uniquely launched his namesake brand, positioning it admits an aura of "guilt marketing". The brand was strikingly successful and was depleting 35,000 cases by the end of year three. Such acceptance and accelerated growth gathers wine industry interest and respect, and Esser partnered with W.J. Deutsch & Sons, with promises of vastly expanding distribution and sales volume. While the brand's U.S. volume did expand to 54,000 cases in 2005, the agreed upon volume goals, upon which the partnership was conceived, were not met due to a variety of reasons.
There was a friendly parting in 2011 as the Esser family regained 100% ownership of the brand and repositioned the portfolio of wines from its California appellation to the higher quality and better consumer perceived Monterey Appellation.
The ESSER brand has an excellent reputation and distribution network, has aligned its brand image with stellar luxury accounts, retains its consumer appeal of exceptional quality and value, is a profitable enterprise, has considerable upside growth, and has just finished a solid and profitable year in 2012.
