Epoch Wires Ltd is a unique technological company based in Cambridge, UK. Epoch Wires has patented their technology to manufacture infinitely long low cost MgB2 superconductive wires. Epoch Wires was founded in September 2013. The founders have 40 years' expertise in the field of superconductivity and manufacturing infinitely long laser seam welded powder-in-tube products. Together we have engineered a state-of-the-art production line. This new manufacturing technology enables the production of MgB2 superconducting wires with excellent physical properties suitable for various applications at a fraction of the cost and at production speeds that can meet the future demand. Our main targets are the MRI market, power generation, power storage and power distribution applications. Epoch Wires have received the prestigious UK SMART award to design MgB2 wires for the MRI market. In addition Epoch has received low carbon KEEP funding to design MgB2 cables for data centres.
