We’re Samimi and Yanna, the husband-and-wife team behind Derby Street Partners. We founded our search fund to find and operate one business that we can lead for the long-term, not flip in a few years or lump into a portfolio of dozens of other companies. Our limited partners comprise successful entrepreneurs, family offices, and institutional investors who share our long-term approach to ownership. Our goal is simple: to build on the strong foundation an owner has created.
Our partnership is rooted in family-business experience. Samimi grew up surrounded by multi-generational entrepreneurs and spent years in finance and real estate development. Yanna helped her parents grow their family’s medical clinics from one location to eight before moving into operations roles at both an early-stage startup and a large, publicly traded software company. Together, we share the same values that shaped their families’ work—Stewardship, Trust, Excellence, and Grit.
We’re looking for a business with strong fundamentals and long-term potential, where we can serve as hands-on operators and thoughtful stewards.
