The founders of the Strategic Access Fund (the “Fund”) believe that the Cannabis industry offers investors exceptional opportunities to generate above-market and outsized returns on investment.
State-legalized Cannabis is a $3.5 billion market that is growing at a 53% compound annual rate – one of the fastest-growing sectors of the healthcare industry and the U.S. economy.
Currently in 23 states and the District of Columbia, the industry anticipates sustained growth as other states legalize Cannabis and as existing state markets mature.
Medical Cannabis is used to treat debilitating symptoms of conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and chronic pain that affect over 20% of the U.S. population – or 65 million Americans.
We see medical Cannabis investments as a rare opportunity to do well by doing good.
Federal prohibition of Cannabis has created a window of opportunity to invest in the industry at a time when major corporate and financial institutions are unable to participate.
We believe that the federal government will ultimately legalize Cannabis for medical use.
Our experience and belief is that owners and operators who comply strictly with state law and Justice Department guidelines will not be subjected to federal enforcement actions.
The Strategic Access Fund offers accredited investors access to the rapidly-emerging Cannabis industry and the opportunity to invest alongside financial professionals with a record of success in the sector.
The Fund is offering subscriptions to a $40-60 million fund of investment capital to be deployed into high-value Cannabis operating companies and ancillary businesses that serve the industry.
The Fund will capitalize on the General Partner’s investment management, operating models, strategies, sector experience, access to proven portfolio companies and new investment opportunities.
We will prioritize investments into companies that hold state operating licenses or operate state- licensed entities, which offer attractive financial dynamics and high return on investment.
The portfolio will be managed to focus on accumulating medical Cannabis assets and building a regional platform in New England as a precursor to a national platform; management will also seek to build portfolio value by:
Applying proven operating models to create efficiencies and lower costs Focusing production on high value-added products Building regional and national brands
The Strategic Access Fund seeks to deliver total investment returns comparable to those of private equity and venture capital funds as well as the prospect for outsized returns in best-case industry scenarios.
We are targeting annual IRR of 36% over 10 years on a $40 million investment.
