Kuzari Group invests in Southern Airways Express, advised by Academy Securities

Southern Airways Express (SAE), a Memphis, TN-based commuter air carrier providing point-to-point scheduled service to markets where legacy carriers have reduced or eliminated flights, acquired Fort Lauderdale-based Sun Air Express, a fellow regional carrier with a hub in the Pittsburgh International Airport. The acquisition of Sun by SAE allows the combined company to expand on the solid base of Sun's EAS routes with SAE's high-growth model. The acquisition was combined with a growth equity investment by the Kuzari Group, a New York-based private equity firm. Academy Securities brought this deal to the Kuzari Group and acted as the exclusive investment banking advisor to SAE. The Kuzari Group and Academy Securities first connected at Axial Concord in 2014.
